Profile Creation in RSA8

1. In RSA8 go to Window -> Preferences
2. Go to Server -> Websphere ApplicationServer.
3. You can see the already created profiles here.

4. Click Run profile management Tool -> Next -> Next

5. Select Advanced Profile creation. Click Next

6. Uncheck "Deploy the Default Application" and check "Deploy the Administrative Console".

 

7. Profile Names  are Sequential by default.Rename it whatever you want. Here I leave the default. You can also change the directory where profile is stored here.

 

 8. You might want to note the node name and host name here. There are other ways you can get them too.

9. Just Uncheck "Enable Administrative Security". This post doesn't cover setting the security. Click Next.

 

10. You might want to take a screen shot of the ports page. There are other ways you can get the ports though.

 

11. On the Windows Services Definitions  Uncheck the "Run the application process
as a Windows Service". This is not necessary. Click Next

 

 

 

12.  Uncheck "Create Web Service Definition". Click next.

  

 

13.  You can see Profile Creation Summary page. Click the Create button. 

14.  This operation will take some time. In Profile Creation Complete page "Uncheck Launch the First step console". Click Finish button.

 

15. Your new profile will now be listed under Websphere Application Server profiles
defined in the runtime selected above.You can also delete the profile here if you want.
